#9. Move the furniture away from the wall. People think that if it has a flat back then put it against the wall and it will create a bigger area. That is so far from the truth. It actually minimizes the space because it only create one wall way. When you put furniture at an angle or pull it away from the wall it create two flow areas and in turn makes the room look bigger.
#8. Stay away from furniture that is to bulky. When you have heavy furniture (and by heavy I mean, lots of fabric or orinate) it weighs the room down. Now don't get me wrong, I have seen some beautiful sofas in my day but it doesn't make sense in a small space. Also the best kind of furniture for small spaces is the kind that can also be used as storage, (most likely found at IKEA, the birth place of small space furniture.)
